How to Include Lamb Heart in Your Dog’s Diet

Introducing lamb heart into your dog’s diet can be done in various ways:

  • Raw Feeding: Some pet owners opt for a raw diet.  Raw lamb heart can be chopped into small pieces and offered as a treat or mixed with other raw ingredients.
  • Cooked Meals: If you prefer cooking for your dog, lamb heart can be boiled or lightly sautéed. Ensure it is thoroughly cooked but avoid seasoning, as spices can be harmful to dogs. Mix the cooked lamb heart with your dog’s regular food for added nutrition.
  • Commercial Dog Food: Some high-quality commercial dog foods include lamb heart as an ingredient. When selecting a dog food brand, look for those that prioritize organ meats in their formulations.

Precautions When Feeding Lamb Heart

While lamb heart is nutritious, moderation is key. Overfeeding organ meats can lead to an imbalance in your dog’s diet.
